Slim, Sleek Visual Correction With High Index Eyeglass Lenses

High-index lenses are an advanced solution designed to provide clear vision for individuals with stronger prescriptions. The "index" of refraction in these lenses refers to their ability to bend light rays effectively, allowing for better vision correction. High-index lenses are thinner at the edges and lighter in weight, making them a popular choice for those with strong prescriptions for myopia (nearsightedness) or hyperopia (farsightedness).

Get Lighter, Thinner Lenses At Advanced Eyecare Specialists

In the past, people with high prescriptions often had to settle for thick and heavy lenses, resulting in the infamous "soda bottle glasses" appearance. However, high-index lenses revolutionize this experience by utilizing their ability to bend light more effectively. This means that even with a powerful prescription, less material can achieve the same level of vision correction.

As a result, high-index lenses eliminate the need for thick and heavy lenses, providing wearers with a more streamlined and appealing look. Whether in lightweight plastic or slightly heavier glass, high-index lenses offer a sleeker and more elegant alternative for vision correction.

Customization for Your Prescription

While high-index materials inherently offer excellent optics, we customize lens design for your prescription needs. Factors like the specifics of your vision correction, frame choice, and visual requirements allow us to tailor high-index lenses for superior comfort and performance.

For example, we may recommend adding treatments like anti-reflective coatings to maximize clarity further while minimizing glare. Or we may tweak the curves and placement of the prescription zones to give you wide, accurate peripheral vision. Our experienced opticians work with you one-on-one to craft high-index eyewear that helps you see your clearest and very best.

Experience Superior Optics

Beyond aesthetics, high-index lenses also provide sharper, crisper vision correction. The higher index of refraction enables more precise focusing, which reduces aberrations, improves light transmission, improves peripheral clarity, reduces color distortion, and provides exceptional image quality.

So, along with slimmed-down frames, high-index wearers can enjoy optics that minimize distortions and let details shine through beautifully. High-index lenses optimize eyesight, whether driving at night, working on the computer, or pursuing a favorite hobby requiring visual precision.
